LOWER RESPIRATORY TRACT: BRONCHIOLOALVEOLAR CARCINOMA, NONMUCINOUS TYPE This gross photograph is from the lungs of a patient who died of widespread bilateral BAC. A cut surface of the formalin-inflated lungs shows multiple, small, gray-white nodules with absence of necrosis, hemorrhage, or architectural distortion. The bronchi course normally through the lung tissue, and the presence of air bronchograms radiographically in such cases is not surprising. |
